Week 18







I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas break! 

On Monday, we celebrated Polar Express day with pajama day! Mr. Veit built a small version of the Polar Express and even dressed as the conductor! We watched the movie on a big screen in the Selinger Gym! We even got a special delivery from the North Pole that Mr. Veit brought over to us! We got jingle bells that were sprinkled with Santa magic and even cold! They were so glad to find out that they all made the nice list! On Tuesday, we had Christmas headwear day! We learned the letter Jj. We finished up our special surprises! We had our December praise assembly! On Wednesday, we learned the letter Kk. We went to mass with our 8th grade buddies! We wrapped a special gift! The students got a gift from the school which was their very own bottle of holy water and holy water font. On Thursday, Ms. Paige and Mrs. Vizner stepped in to run our class party because I had my son! I will miss all the little ones over break. I will see you all in March!

Important dates for December and January:
  • No school starting on Friday, December 19th for the start of Christmas break. 
  • Christmas break will run from December 19th-January 2nd.
  • My maternity will begin on December 18th and I will return on March 2nd! 
  • School resumes on Monday, January 5th.
  • Report cards go home on Friday, January 9th.
  • Tuesday, January 13th is an early out day. There will be no after school care. 
  • No school on Monday, January 19th. 
  • We will be going to mass on Wednesday, January 21st. Please try and have your child here by 7:45 am so we are able to go to the bathroom before heading to the big school to meet our buddies. 
  • The monthly praise assembly will be on Friday, January 23rd. 
  • Catholic Schools Week will be January 26th- January 30th. 
  • January 30th will be an early out day. There will be no after school care.

Week 17

This week our theme was Christmas. On Monday, I was gone for a training and the kids spent the day with Miss Alice! She told me that they did a great job for her! I am so proud of how well they act when I am gone! They learned the letter Dd. On Tuesday, we learned the letter Ee. I started our quarter 2 report card assessments. I am so proud of how far these little ones have come since August, in all areas of the classroom! On Wednesday, we learned letter Ff. I continued working on report card assessments. We went and saw the presentation of Our Lady of Guadalupe by El Puente. On Thursday, we learned the letter Gg. On Friday, we learned the letter Hh. We worked on a secret project that you will all see soon enough. ;) I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will see you all on Monday!

Important Dates in December 

  • Monday, December 15th will be Polar Express Day. Your child can wear their festive Christmas pajamas to school.
  • Our monthly praise assembly will be Tuesday, December 16th. 
  • Tuesday, December 16th is Winter hat day. Your child can wear their favorite Christmas hat to school.
  • We will be going to mass on Wednesday, December 17th. Please try and have your child at school by 7:45 am so we are able to get to the big school to meet our 8th grade buddies. 
  • $5 Santa gifts are due by Wednesday, December 17th.
  • Wednesday, December 17th is candy cane day. Your child can wear red and white to school!
  • Our Christmas party will be Thursday, December 18th. More information will come in the coming week. 
  • Thursday, December 18th is Christmas sweater day. Your child can wear their favorite Christmas sweater to school and be ready for our party!
  • No school starting on Friday, December 19th for the start of Christmas break. 
  • Christmas break will run from December 19th-January 2nd.
  • My maternity will begin on December 18th and I will return on March 2nd!

Week 16

This week our theme was reindeer. On Monday, we learned the letter Zz. We started working on a reindeer handprint project. On Tuesday, we reviewed the whole alphabet! The kiddos did so great singing at the Capitol. I am so proud of how brave they were to get on that stage and sing in front of so many people! Thank you to all who came out to support your kid and all these amazing preschoolers! On Wednesday, we started our alphabet rotation again back with the letter Aa. We finished up our reindeer handprint project. On Thursday, the kiddos got to spend the day with Miss Kaia since I was home with a sick kiddo! They learned the letter Bb while I was gone! On Friday, we learned the letter Cc. We spent the day getting to play and have fun together! I hope everyone stays warm this weekend! Reminder I will be gone on Monday for a training! I will see you all on Tuesday! I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the photos from the week!

Week 15














This week we talked all about Thanksgiving! On Monday, we learned the letter Uu. We finished making our name turkeys! Check them out as they are hanging on our windows! On Tuesday, we learned the letter Vv. During play time, I asked each kid how to cook a turkey and made it into a cook book! This is always one of my favorite activities because of what the kiddos come up with! On Wednesday, we went to church with our 8th grade buddies! We also learned the letter Ww. On Thursday, we learned the letter Xx. I painted all of their hands to make Thanksgiving placemats! I hope you enjoy this little keepsake to have throughout the years to remember how little their hands once were! I know that time goes fast and they grow in the blink of an eye! On Friday, we had fun Friday! In P.E. we had a new obstacle course challenges, played follow the leader to keep working on following directions and free time! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! I will see you all in December! 

 Reminders:

  • Please make sure you are sending your child with a coat every day as we do go outside even if it is cold. As long as the feels like is above 25 degrees, we do go outside. 
    • Please be practicing with your child how to put on their own coat, as well as zipping it and flipping the sleeves the correct ways as this saves me time in the long run from putting on everyone's coat for them and zipping them! 
  • Please make sure you have changed your child's spare clothes in their cubby to Fall/Winter appropriate clothing in case of accident or spills. 
  • In case you missed Miss Jay's email about the door bells, reminder that the doors lock at 8:00 am everyday. If you are here after that time, remember to push to door bell hard as it is not always heard if it is pressed lightly. If someone doesn't come answer the door, you can always try using the doorbell at Miss Jay's back door at the end of the ramp.

Week 14









This week our theme was all about turkeys! On Monday, we learned the letter Pp. I also began working with the kids to see how they have grown in their alphabet knowledge since last month. On Tuesday, we learned the letter Qq. We attended the Veteran's Day assembly. On Wednesday, we learned the letter Rr. We colored thank you cards for soldiers that will be sent to thank them for their service. I also continued to work with kids on seeing on how they have grown in their alphabet knowledge. In the afternoon, preschool teamed up with 8th grade to make a craft for world kindness day! The 8th graders helped them trace and cut out their hand prints and then preschool got to decorate them. We got a chance to hang them up in the big school for everyone to see and a reminder to spread kindness. On Thursday, we learned the letter Ss. We got a chance to color a turkey and its feathers that spelled the kids names. We also got to go get a preview of the musical that the big friends have been working so hard on! On Friday, we learned the letter Tt. We had fun Friday and for P.E. we got to play in Miss Jay's room with all our preschool friends! 

Reminders:

  • We will have a canned food drive for Catholic Charities from November 17th-21st. The winning class gets a pizza party on Friday! You can send in cans or money if that is easier for you! I sent a flyer about this home on Thursday!
  • We will be going to mass on Wednesday, November 19th. Please have your child here by 7:45 so we are able to get ready and go to the bathroom prior to heading to mass!
  • Our monthly praise assembly will be on Friday, November 21st. 
  • No school Monday, November 24th through Friday, November 28th for Thanksgiving Break.
