What a fun first full week of preschool! This week we focused on the theme of "All about the ABCs". We learned about all the letters of the alphabet. This week we started our classroom jobs. Our four classroom jobs are line leader, caboose, prayer leader and teacher helper! They were very excited to take on a roll in helping in our classroom! I also started my monthly letter assessments with each student. This helps me track where students are in the beginning of the year and as the months go on what letters we need to focus more on. On Monday, we read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". Our craft for the day was making a class version of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom with all our friends in it. We got to play in Selinger Gym because it was just too hot for us to be playing on our playground! We celebrated Rhett P.'s 4th birthday! On Tuesday, we read "Z is for Moose". The kiddos colored the cover of their alphabet book that we are going to be making this year. As the year goes on and we learn a new letter each week they will make a special page that corresponds with that letter and a picture or object to match it. This will be sent home at the end of the year once we have learned all the letters! On Wednesday, we read "Walk and See ABC". We got to use our fun dot paint makers to work together as a class to trace the whole alphabet! Check it out as we have it hanging on the wall under the bulletin boards! On Thursday, we read "Eating the Alphabet: Fruits & Vegetables from A to Z". We had a fun time talking about which foods we liked and which we might not have tried yet! The kiddos painted for the first time in preschool with water color paints! I am putting together a fun door decoration where they all painted the first letter of their name! On Friday, we did our first "Fun and Fitness Friday". Together with Ms. Jay's class, we have P.E. class and make sure that we are making the most out of the end of our week together! Today in P.E., we learned the routine that we will follow, did our obstacle course, and learned how to play duck, duck, goose and red light, green light! We had our first praise assembly of the school year with the whole school! I hope everyone enjoys the photos from the week! Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday! - I sent home a Ready Pop fundraiser today. These are due back Friday, September 8th.
- I sent home a half sheet of paper asking for a family photo for our theme next week. You may bring those in on Monday or ay time next week.
- Picture day is August 31st.
