Week of December 13-17th

What a fun week that we had! Thank you to everyone who brought in snacks and drinks for our different celebration days! We started off with Grinch day on Monday! We had green snacks and watched the Grinch. We also did a science experiment and watched the Grinch's heart grow three sizes like in the book! On Tuesday, we celebrated Jesus's birthday with cupcakes and sang Him happy birthday. We also got to watch the movie "The Star", which is an animated movie that talks about the journey to Bethlehem from the point of view of the donkey that carried Mary. On Wednesday, we wore our cozy Christmas socks. We worked on our special projects that came home wrapped up for parents on Friday! We also got to decorate sugar cookies! On Thursday, we celebrated ugly Christmas sweater day, although we had some pretty adorable sweaters in our classroom! We also sang our song at the Capitol! I am so proud with how well they sang and performed for everyone there! We even got to have a picnic in our classroom when we came back! We watched Frosty and wrapped our Christmas presents! On Friday, we celebrated our Christmas party with all of our friends. We also joined the big school in their Christmas caroling! We watched Polar Express and drank hot chocolate and ate cookies! I know I had a lot of fun celebrating Christmas this week with these little ones! It is so fun to see the excitement of Christmas through their eyes! These little ones have done a great job on focusing on the true meaning of Christmas this week being the birth of Jesus! Enjoy the photos from this week! I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! I will see you all on January 4th to began 2022!

We made our very own gingerbread man using glitter, beads and eyes! They all turned out so cute! Check them out on our classroom door! On Wednesday we read "How to Catch a Gingerbread Man". Week on November 29th- December 3

This week we focused on the theme Jesus is the reason for the season! Our letter of the week was Jj, our number 13, the shape of a circle and the color purple. On Monday, we read "How Many Miles to Bethlehem?". In small group we made the letter J with paint dobbers and we made stockings to hang on our "fire place" by our Christmas! On Tuesday, we read "The Christmas Story". In small group we started our own advent wreaths that we will work on each week. The kids ripped paper to light their own first purple candle and create the greenery around the wreath. On Wednesday, we read "The First Christmas". In small group they got creative and got to create their own ornaments for our classroom tree. On Thursday, we read "Born on Christmas Morn". We made goodbye cards for Ms. Rachel, the aide in Mrs. Samantha's room as Thursday was her last day! We loved getting to spend time with Ms. Rachel at recess and after care! On Friday we read "The Baby Jesus". During center time we colored J is for Jesus! I am really focusing with them on slowing down when we color, adding lots of colors to our pictures and using colors that are realistic. I love seeing how excited they get about how baby Jesus was born on Christmas day! If you would still like to send in an ornament for our class Christmas tree you are more than welcome to! They will be returned the day before break! Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you all on Monday for another fun week of learning and growing!
