Week of October 23rd- 26th

I hope that everyone used this week to recuperate from a fun Friday at the pumpkin patch! This week our theme was "Boo, Ghosts!". We focused on the letter Gg, the number 9, the shape of a circle and the color white! On Monday, we read "The Ghost Who is Afraid of the Dark". During center time, we made splatter ghosts by dropping white paint on our paper and blowing through a straw to spread them out. On Tuesday, we read "Gustavo, The Shy Ghost". During center time, I worked one on one with each student on coloring, tracing and forming their own letter Gg, identifying a picture that begins with the letter Gg and identifying the letter G in a group of other letters. We celebrated the month of October praise assembly. This month's theme was service! On Wednesday, we read "Ten Timid Ghosts". During center time, we worked on some fine motor skills in order to help us grab pencils and write this school year. The kiddos worked on tearing paper and creating a ghost out of the torn paper. On Thursday, we read "How to Scare a Ghost". During center time, the kiddos used sponges to paint a ghost! I hope everyone has a great weekend! Reminder there is no school on Friday!  Enjoy the photos from the week! I will see you all on Monday!

Week of October 16th- October 20th

This week we focused on all things pumpkins. We learned the letter Pp, the number 8, reviewed the color orange and worked on the shape of an oval. On Monday, we read "Perfect Pumpkins". We talked about what we are going to see at the pumpkin patch on Friday. On Tuesday, we read "The Biggest Pumpkin Ever". The kiddos made their P page for their alphabet books that we have been working on. They got to choose between P is for pink and P is for purple. On Wednesday, we read " Pumpkin Countdown". We measured how many pumpkins tall we were! We counted to see how many friends were on each pumpkin. Check this out as it is hanging by our classroom door! On Thursday, we read "The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin". During center time, I worked one on one with each student on tracing and writing their own letter Pp. We also focused on identifying the letter P, words that begin with the letter p and practiced coloring inside the lines. On Friday, we went to Beyond the Barn and came back to school to relax after a fun filled morning. I am sure they will all sleep great tonight as they all seemed to have a blast at Beyond the Barn! Thank you to all who joined us! Enjoy the photos from the week! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will see you all on Monday!
