What a great first full week of school! This week our theme was all about the alphabet. We focused on learning all of the letters of the alphabet this week. On Monday, we read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". During center time, we made our very own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom class book! Monday morning we also did our very first fire drill of the year! They did great and we will only get faster at it as the year goes along! On Tuesday, we read "Alphabet Rescue". During center time, we made the cover to an alphabet book that we are going to be creating each week in preschool as we learn a new letter. This will be a project that will continue to grow throughout the year as we learn new letters. They will take this home at the end of the year when we have learned the whole alphabet! We also tried to see how many letters we could get to fit in our coconut trees before they all fell out. On Wednesday, we read "LMNO Peas". During center time, we got a chance to make the alphabet colorful! Each student got a chance to use the bingo dobbers to trace three letters of the alphabet. Check it out as it is hanging on our wall in our classroom! On Thursday, we read "Z is for Moose". During center time, we got to water color paint the first letter of our name. Check it out as they are hanging on our door and I will send them home soon! On Friday, we read "Alphabet Adventure". We got the playdoh out and made the shape of letters in our name and then just played with all of the fun playdoh toys! On Friday, we also celebrated our first whole school praise assembly celebrating the being a school family and school friends who demonstrated the characteristics of St. Francis. Next week's theme is "We are Family" so I am asking everyone to send in a family photo to school that we can display all week to look at and talk about our families!
