Week of February 19th- 23rd

This week our theme was "Outer space". We focused on learning the letter Oo, the number 2, the color black and the shape of a star. On Tuesday, we began reading "Planets" and started talking about the first three planets. During center time, I worked one on one with each student on tracing and writing the letter Oo. We embraced our seasonally warm weather and took a walk outside to enjoy our snack on the train bridge by Adrian's Island with Miss Jay's friends. On Wednesday, we read more of the book "Planets" and focused on the next three planets in the solar system. During center time, the kiddos made their very own telescopes to help them see the stars and moon at night. Thanks to Mrs. Bell (The big school P.E. teacher) we got new alphabet blocks for P.E. that we tested out yesterday! These new blocks have letters, number, and pictures on them. Together with Miss Jay's friends we made the whole alphabet! On Thursday, each kiddo worked on making their own name rocket. Each kiddo had to count how many letters were in their name and gather the correct number of squares and then write or trace the letters in their name! It is always fun to compare the different sizes of all the rockets! On Friday, we celebrated fun and fitness Friday! We played our laundry sorting game with our bean bags again this week! I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will see you all on Monday! Enjoy the photos from the week!

In case you missed it in your child's folder, we will be having simple dress up days next week to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday! Monday is pajama day. Tuesday is red or blue day. Wednesday is silly sock day. Thursday is animal print day. Friday is hat day. Feel free to join us for one or two days or all of them! We wanted to make it as simple as possible since we just had a dress up day!

Week of February 12th- 16th

Hello preschool families! It feels good to be back with all of my little friends again and they have all done a great job at keeping me distracted while I am here! I cannot thank everyone enough for all the kind words and wishes as I came back from having my daughter!

This week our theme was Valentine's day! We learned the letter Vv, the color red, and the shape of a heart. On Tuesday, we celebrated Valentine's day with Miss Jay's friends. We spent the morning eating snack, making Valentines bags and playing games. In the afternoon, we handed out our Valentines and watched a Valentines show. On Wednesday, we went to mass to celebrate Ash Wednesday! I am very proud with how well they did! On Thursday, we read "How to Catch a Cupid" and we talked all about how we can spread love with more than just our words! On Friday, we had our fun and fitness Friday with Miss Jay's friends. We played a new game that we called laundry sort where they were teamed up to relay race to get their color bean bag into the hoop the fastest! I hope everyone enjoys the photos from the week and I will see you all on Tuesday! Have a great long weekend!
