Week of March 25th- 27th

This week our theme was "Baseball". We spent the week focusing on the letter Cc, the color red (Go cards! :) ), the shape of a diamond and the number 7. On Monday, we read "Dino-baseball". During center time, each kiddo used their handprint to make a baseball glove and their finger prints to make the laces of the baseball! Check these out when you pick up and drop off as they are hanging on our classroom windows! Each kiddo also decorated their own baseball jerseys to decorate our door and picked out a number that they wanted on their jersey! On Tuesday, we read "Berenstain Bears: We Love Baseball". During center time, I worked with the kiddos to assess their monthly alphabet knowledge! These little ones continue to blow me away each month with the growth that they have made! I am so proud looking back on their scores from August til now! They each have grown so much! We celebrated our monthly praise assembly! On Wednesday, we played t-ball together with Miss Jay's friends. We also worked together to make Opening Day crowns and wrote what we thought it took to be a good team player. I hope everyone has a blessed Easter! I will see you all when we get back from break!

Week of March 18th-22nd

This week our theme was "Spring" and we did all we can to make sure we are bringing that Spring weather! This week we focused on the letter Ss, the number 6, the shape of an oval and the color red. On Monday, we read "Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring". During center time, the kiddos colored a mini book called "Spring Colors" and we focused on coloring the pictures based on the sentence below! Hopefully your kiddo was excited to read this with you! On Tuesday, we read "Mouse's First Spring". During center time, the kiddos searched for the letter Ss in a snowman, along with tracing the Ss. On Wednesday, we read "Hail to Spring". We talked about some of the many types of weather that we can see in the season of Spring. During center time, I started working with some of the friends on making kites that had their names as the tail. On Thursday, we read "Wake Up, Its Spring". During center time, they made their own wind sock to fly in the wind outside! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will see you all on Monday!

Week of March 11th-15th

This week we our theme was St. Patrick's day. We focused on the letter Pp, the number 5, the shape of a diamond and the color green. On Monday, we read "Pete the Cat and the Great Leprechaun Chase". During center time, we made hand print shamrocks. Together with Miss Jay's class, we ate snack outside and played with our toy buckets outside for a change of scenery. On Tuesday, we read "Three Ways to Trap a Leprechaun". During center time, we talked about different ways that we can be lucky. The kiddos then colored a shamrock and told me about what made them feel lucky. It was so great to hear all of the amazing things that they make them feel lucky in their hearts. On Wednesday, we read "How to Catch a Leprechaun". We talked about if any of the ways that they made might work and if they were similar to any of their leprechaun traps. During centers, the kiddos made St. Patrick's day headbands! On Thursday, we read "Happy St. Patrick's Day Curious George". During center time, the kiddos worked on coloring by shape! We talked about what each shape and color was and the picture formed a leprechaun! On Friday, we spent the day with Miss Jay's friends having our St. Patrick's Day party! Thank you to everyone who sent something in or came and helped with our party. Enjoy the photos from the week! I will see you all on Monday for our short week!

Thank you so much for everyone who sent in a leprechaun trap! Seeing the kiddos faces this morning as they came in to their "gold", treasure and small note reminds me so much of why I do this job and you all working together with your little one was a big part of that! Thank you so much for going along with our crazy ideas sometimes!
