Week of March 6th-March 10th

How have we completed three of our four quarters together already?! These kiddos continue to amaze me every day with the knowledge they have gained and the kindness that they show to everyone around them. This week our theme was Rainbow! We focused on the letter Rr, the number 4, the shape of a diamond and all of the colors of the rainbow! On Monday, we read "How the Crayons Saved the School". During center time, the kiddos got a chance to get a little messy! The put one color of paint on one hand and another color on the other! Then they rubbed their two hands together to see what new color they made! We spent the gorgeous afternoon going on a color walk to find all of the colors of the rainbow! These kiddos made great rainbow detectives! On Tuesday, we read "Red: A Crayon's Story". During center time, the kiddos added their letter R page of their ABC book, which was R is for red! Their book is so close to being complete and they only need four more letter pages! On Wednesday, we read "Chameleon's Colors". During center time, I assessed some of the students for the third quarter! I am beyond proud of all of the growth they have all made! During Science time that afternoon, we tried to make the walking rainbow! On Thursday, we read "Groovy Joe: We're Going to Build a Rainbow!". During center time, the kiddos made paper plate rainbows! They really focused on what the order of the colors were and how to make sure that they were all in the right spot! We continued to watch to see how our walking rainbow changed over night! I hope everyone has a good long weekend! I will see you all on Monday for another short week! Enjoy the photos from the week!
