It was nice to have everyone back this week and the weather a whole lot nicer than last week! This week our theme was feelings, manners and kindness. Our focuses of the week were the letter Kk, the number 7, the shape of a rectangle, and the color purple. On Monday, we read "What Does It Mean To Be Kind?". During center time, we worked on how to form the letter K using our paint dobbers. We also worked on writing and tracing our name. I have seen a lot of improvement from all of the students in tracing and beginning to write their names on their own. Keep working at home with your child on identifying the letters of their name and writing their names at home! On Tuesday, we read "Be You!". During center time, we worked on a worksheet that had us searching and coloring the letter K. The kids did amazing with following the directions and only coloring the letter K! We also got to catch up on some of our alphabet book pages! I cannot wait to finish this project once we have learned all of the letters and send it home so you all are able to see what they have been working so hard on all school year to create! We also celebrated Maybelline's 4th birthday! On Wednesday, we read "My Many Colored Days" During center time, we created our very own color self and described how that color made them feel. We also made our very own K kings. Check them out during drop off or pick up to see them as they are hanging on our windows. Mrs. Samantha took the all of the preschool friends outside during the afternoon recess to shovel the snow on the playground! They had so much fun! On Thursday, we read "Glad Monster, Sad Monster". During center time, we made our very own happy or sad monsters. The students got to decorate them however, they wanted to and get creative with how their monster looked and felt. On Friday, we read "Clifford's Manners". We got to watch the movie "Inside Out" and play with playdoh! We went and watched the 8th grade versus staff volleyball game! We also celebrated Chiles' 4th birthday! Enjoy the photos from the week! I will see you all on Monday for another fun filled week!
