Mrs. Nikki's Preschool Friends: Week of August 29th- September 2nd

This week's theme was "We are Family". We focused our learning on the letter Ll, the number 1, the shape of a heart and the color red. On Monday, we read "Clifford's Family". On Monday, some friends shared their family photos and we counted the members of their family. During center time, we made a who is in my house picture and they colored the members of their family and glued them on a house. Check them out as they are hanging by the door to our classroom. On Tuesday, we read "The Family Book". During center time, we made our first page of our year long alphabet book project. Our page was L is for letters and they got a chance to stamp different letters in the L. They also used the bingo dobbers to form the capital and lower case Ll. I was also lucky enough to celebrate my birthday with my ten new friends this year! They helped make the day very special! On Wednesday, we read "One Family". During center time, we talked about what each student likes to do with their family! They got a chance to color a picture of their favorite activity to go along with the sentence I wrote from what they dictated to me! On Thursday, we read "A Visit to Grandma's". During center time, we made a family tree with their handprint and labeled the leaves member of their families! This was followed by a Bible verse to remind us all that God is always blessing our family! On Friday, we read "Franklin Says I Love You". We practiced our fire drill again this month to make sure that we were ready to go in case of an emergency! They During center time, we got the playdoh out again for Fun Friday and made our different family members faces out of playdoh! It was fun to watch them get silly with their play doh faces! I sent home a note along with an All About Me paper on Thursday and Friday this week! Next week our theme is "All About Me" and I am hoping to share two students pages each day. If you could send this back at your earliest convenience that would be amazing. I am hoping that each student will get a chance to learn a little more about their friends! Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 5th. I will see you all on Tuesday!

*Just a reminder, please be checking your child's cubby each night! There are times that I may put an important message from myself or the office or your child's art work from the day or week may be in there.

*Another reminder, please make sure you are taking your child's nap items and water bottle home at the end of the week to be washed and returned on Monday or the following day after a weekend. On short weeks, nap bags might not go home.
