This week our theme was St. Patrick's Day! We focused on the letter Pp, the number 5, the shape of a rectangle and the color green! On Monday, we read "How to Catch a Leprechaun". We got the chance to play with some of Ms. Brittney's friends! On Tuesday, we read "Pete the Cat: The Great Leprechaun Chase". During center time, we illustrated a sentence about why they feel lucky! They also practiced tracing to help form the letters. We spent time talking about how an illustrator has to make sure that the pictures in a book match the words that the author has wrote in order for the book to make sense. On Wednesday, we read " There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover". During center time, the kiddos practiced their colors and their scissor skills. On Thursday, we came in to a mess in our classroom with writing on the mirrors, the toilets were green and a note with gold left on our table! We went on a leprechaun hunt and caught the him! But we let him go to join his family! However, he did leave us an amazing rainbow treat and green juice!
Below is a link to Ms. Brittney's blog with more pictures and videos from today's leprechaun hunt.
