Week 29

This week we focused on the letter Kk. On Monday, I worked with some of the friends on identifying the letters in their name and we are working on coloring the whole space that we are given and not just one little part. I completed working with friends to color in their shamrocks on that made up their name. For our small group time with Miss Jay, we worked on writing with chalk and having to stay on our stomachs. This is a great practice for working on core strength, which in turn helps with our fine motor skills! On Wednesday, we did our second Lenten act of service and delivered water bottles with fruit punch packets and popcorn to our 8th grade church buddies to thank them for helping us at church. We also cleaned up the sticks in the rectory courtyard. Our preschool goal is to complete one act of service each week in order to spread kindness like Jesus! On Thursday, we worked ripping up paper that matches the colors of the rainbow to make our contribution to the penny war board set up! If you bring in change make sure to check out the rainbow! On Fun Friday, we got to play with the parachute at P.E.! The kiddos got a chance to share their leprechaun traps with the class and we set them up at the end of the day! I know they are all excited to see if we are going to catch a leprechaun or not! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will see you all on Monday! Enjoy the photos from the week!

Preschool will be competing against the office staff next week from March 17th-20th in a penny war. We will be raising money for the rice bowls for their Lenten service project. All coins have a different value assigned to them! A penny is 1 point, silver is worth -1 point and bills are worth -2 points. The winner will be the group with the most points at the end of the 3 days. If we win, the office will be throwing us a popsicle party and if the office wins, we will be throwing them a party! May the odds be in our students' favor!

Week 27

We made it through a whole week and with beautiful weather to enjoy! This week we focused on the letter Ii. On Monday, we worked on the letters in their name and focused on trying to stay in the lines when coloring and adding lots of color. Once they colored all of the pieces of their leprechaun, they ordered the letters of their name in the correct order to spell their name. Check these out as they are hanging on our classroom windows. On Tuesday, we painted using a marble to make shamrocks. These will be hanging on our door! I loved how these turned out. On Wednesday, the students finished up their marble paintings for those that were gone on Tuesday! On Thursday, I began assessing for report cards. I am so proud of how far these kiddos have come in the 3 quarters that we have been in school! In the afternoon, we took a walk with Miss Jay's friends to enjoy this beautiful weather we have had this week. I have seen so much growth in all aspects of the classroom! We wrapped up the week with Fun Friday! We took another walk around the Capitol! What a beautiful week we have had! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will see you all on Monday!
