Week of October 11-15

Hello friends and family! This week we learned about the letter Gg, the number 8, the color white and reviewed the shape of a circle. Our theme this week was Boo! Ghosts! On Monday, we read the story "We're Going on a Ghost Hunt!". Then we practiced forming the letter G using the paint dobbers and starting at the top of the G and making our way around. On Tuesday, we read the story "Ten Tiny Ghosts". We then make our very own paint blown ghosts. We put white paint on the paper than we blew through a straw to move the paint around and added some eyes. These turned out so cute. They each chose how many eyes they wanted their ghosts to have. We had some very unique ghosts! On Wednesday, we started our morning out by going outside early to avoid the rain that we knew we were going to get in the afternoon. We then came in and caught up on our alphabet book pages that we haven't had a chance to get to lately due to our busy schedule. We did pages A is for apple and G is for glitter! On Thursday, we read "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Ghost". We also made ghosts by painting with string! I have learned that they do not like having messy hands! Check out our ghosts on our classroom door! On Friday we read "Ghost Afraid of the Dark". We practiced the letter Gg and coloring pictures with colors that match the item in real life. Upcoming Events

• The end of first quarter is Friday, October 15th. 
• We will be going to Fisher Farms Pumpkin Patch on October 19th from 11:45am to 2:20 pm.
• We will be having pajama day on October 22nd to celebrate learning the letter Pp. 
• Report cards and parent teacher conference sign up sheets will go home on Friday, October 22nd.
• We will be having our Halloween party on October 27th. There will be a sign up sheet if you would like to bring anything about a week prior to the party. 
• Picture retake day is Wednesday, October 27th.
• Parent teacher conferences are on Thursday, October 28th. This is also an early out day and there will be no aftercare this day. 
• There is no school on Friday, October 29th.
