Week of September 12-16

This week our theme was bears. We focuses were the letter Bb, the number 3, the shape of a square and the color brown. On Monday, we read "We're Going On a Bear Hunt". We started brainstorming a list of Bb words that we knew! During center time, they made their very own bear ears! They got a chance to color them to be a black, brown or leave them white to be a polar bear. They also worked on cutting out with my help guiding them along. On Tuesday, we read "Don't Wake the Bear". During center time, they worked on using the bingo dobbers to form the letter Bb and added to our alphabet book for the B is for beans page. We also added more letters to our letter B words! On Wednesday, we read "A Den is a Bed for a Bear". During center time, they each made a pair of binoculars. On Wednesday afternoon, we went for a walk around the Capitol with Ms. Jay's friends to try out the cool binoculars that they each worked so hard on creating! We looked for things that had the letter Bb, the color brown and the shape of a square! On Thursday, we smiled big for picture day! We read "Sleep, Bear!". During center time, they made brown bear puppets! On Friday, we read "Corduroy". During center time, they made paper plate Corduroys! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will see you all on Monday!
