This week our theme was "Way Up High in the Apple Tree". Our focuses of the week were the letter Aa, the number 4, the shape of an oval, and the color green. On Monday, we read "Apples". During center time, each student got a turn with a step in helping make applesauce in the crockpot! That afternoon, we got to try our hard work creation! There were very mixed reviews! :) On Tuesday, we read "Fluffy Goes Apple Picking". During center time, the students practiced forming the letter Aa with the bingo dobbers and making their A page for their ABC book, which was A is for apples! On Wednesday, we read "Apples, Apples, Everywhere!". During center time, each student got a chance to try a red, yellow, and green apple! Once they tried each one, they had to pick which was their favorite. Everyone picked red as their favorite! They colored their apple their favorite one and added it to our apple tree in our classroom! On Thursday, we read "Autumn is for Apples". During center time, they used apples to stamp leaves into a tree! On Friday, we read "Fall Apples, Crisp and Juicy". During center time, we focused on fine motor skills. Each student got a chance to rip paper and fill up an apple of their choice! Tearing paper is a great way to work on fine motor skills! Don't worry we talked about how this is a school activity and not to do this at home without asking mom and dad if it was okay and cleaning up after ourselves when we are done! :) We also tried dried apples and apple cider! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will see you Monday for our short week!
