Week of September 26-29th

This week our theme was Fall! Our focuses of the week were the letter Ff, the number 5, the color orange and the shape of a rectangle. On Monday, we read "Autumn Leaves are Falling Down". During center time, each student got a chance to make a happy fall headband! We are practicing taking our time when doing our work, using a variety of color and coloring up the whole space! On Tuesday, we read "The Leaves Are Falling One by One". During center time, they worked on using the bingo dobbers to form the capital and lower case Ff. They also made their letter F page for their ABC book that they are continuing to grow each week. This week was F is for feathers. It is so exciting to watch their ABC book grow over the weeks so they are ready to take it home after we have learned all of the letters! On Wednesday, we read "How Do You Know It's Fall?" During center time, the students used a different paint brush today! The students stamped with aluminum foil to make leaves in a tree. They had a chance to pick what pick what color of leaves they wanted in their fall tree. On Thursday, we read "We're Going on a Leaf Hunt". During center time, each student made a fall leaf wreath! We also celebrated as a whole school our second praise assembly of the year! Throughout the week we all worked to make a list of Ff words! Enjoy your weekend! I will see you all on Monday for our first week of October!

*Just a reminder that now that it is Fall to please bring a jacket or sweatshirt for your child to wear during morning recess as it is getting cooler in the mornings. Thank you!

*Another reminder, as we are finishing the seventh week of school, please work on transitioning your child to saying good bye independently. This can look like them walking into the classroom, walking them to the window in Ms. Jay's room and waving goodbye independently, or giving a final hug before going to play with their friends.
