Week of March 4th- 7th

This week we spent learning and talking all about the rainbow! We learned the letter Uu, the number 4, the shape of a diamond and ALL the colors! On Monday, we read "How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow". During center time, the kiddos showed me all what they have learned this year as I started their quarterly assessments. We celebrated our cookie party for the class working together to fill up our star jar with all green days! We shared our cookies with Miss Jay's friends! We followed our cookie party with a walk to the Capitol to look at the clouds! On Tuesday, we read "Bear Sees Colors". During center time, the kiddos continued to show me all that they have learned as I continued quarterly assessments. On Wednesday, we read "The Crayon Box That Talked". I wrapped up our quarterly assessments. We started our walking rainbow science experiment. We placed water in each cup and red, yellow and blue food coloring in three of the cups. I then placed paper towels connecting the cups with just water in them. We are still waiting to see what will happen once the food coloring has started traveling to the other cups. We went on a rainbow color hunt to find things out in nature that match each color of the rainbow. Miss Mary bought preschool a tee and bat for our P.E. Fridays and we tested it out since it was such a nice day out. On Thursday, we read "Mixed". During center time, the students painted their hands with one primary color on each hand and then rubbed them together to see what color they created. We also made bingo dobber rainbows. We got a chance to see the winter concert preview that the big school put on for us! What a fun filled week. I will see you all on Monday! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
