Week of January 17-21

Welcome back friends! I hope everyone is staying healthy, rested and safe! Our theme this week was Penguins! Our letter of the week was Nn, our number was 9, our shape was oval and our color was black! On Wednesday, we read "Hello Penguin". During center time we worked on forming the letter N with our paint dobbers. On Thursday, we read " Little Penguin Stays Awake." During center time, we made cotton ball penguins! We even got to watch a couple of videos to learn new facts about penguins. On Friday, we read "Penguins". During center time, we began a penguin toilet paper roll stamping project. We started by building the background that the penguins would be on. The students torn and glued construction paper onto another piece to build the icebergs that the penguins were on and then stamped the penguins. We also got to watch Disney Nature movie "Penguins". Week of January 10th-14th

 This week our theme was snow and ice. We focused on the letter Ii, the number 10, the shape of a triangle and the color white. On Monday, we read "Ten Shiny Snowflakes". During center time, we made our paint dobber I to learn how to form the letter I. On Tuesday, we read "The Snow Day". During center time, we practiced writing our names. They are getting good at tracing and some have started writing it without the tracing. Keep practicing writing and tracing names at home! On Wednesday, we read "Sneezy the Snowman". We continued to work on our names by making name snowmen! Check them out to see how big some friend's snowman got! On Thursday, we read "The Smiley Snowman". During center time, we made snowmen out of coffee filters. On Friday,  we even got to watch the new "Paw Patrol Movie" as they have done a great job listening and being flexible with all the changing that have happened this week! We have done a lot of talking this week about germs and covering our coughs and sneezes with all of the sickness going around. Mrs. Garner has placed a preschool registration letter in your child's cubby today. Please read over it and if you have any questions, contact Mrs. Garner. Please enjoy the photos from this week! Week of January 3-7th

Welcome back! It was so good to see all of their smiling face this week! This week our theme was New Year! We focused on the letter Yy, the number 12, the shape of a circle and the color yellow. On Tuesday, we read Happy New Year, Pooh!. During center time we worked on our paint dobber letter Y. On Wednesday, we read "The Night Before New Year's". During center time we made handprint fireworks to celebrate the new year. On Thursday, we read "Squirrel's New Year's Resolution". During center time we worked on our letter Y page for our alphabet book. Our Yy page is Y is for yarn! Our alphabet books are growing every week with all of the letters that we have learned! I cannot wait to see the final product after we have learned all our letters this year! On Friday, we read "Happy New Year Puggie". During center time we our very own wishing wands! We started making wishes on what we hope will happen this year. We also got to watch the ball drop. Just a little heads up as the weather is getting colder. We will go outside if the feels like temperature is 25 degrees or higher. Please make sure that you are sending coat, hat, and gloves or mittens with your child everyday.
