This week our theme was Earth Day: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We focused on the letter Rr, the number 10, the color blue and the shape of a circle. On Monday, we read "It's Earth Day". During center time, the kiddos painted their plates blue and green to create the Earth. Once they were dry, we added eyes, a smile, arms and legs to make our Earth buddy! On Tuesday, we read "How The Crayons Saved the Earth". During center time, the kids practiced their tracing skills and coloring skills. We really focused on staying inside the lines that they created. On Wednesday, we read "Why Should I Recycle?". During center time, we created our letter Rr bracelet! We focused on the coloring the items based on what they actually look like. On Thursday, we read "Miss Fox's Class Goes Green". During center time, I painted the kiddos hands, one blue and one green, and we made the Earth with our hand prints that went along with an Earth Day poem. Thursday afternoon, we took a windy walk up to the Capitol to see the Clydesdales! We got to watch as they hooked all 8 of them up to their harness on the wagon and even got to see the Dalmatian puppy! On Friday, we had fun and fitness Friday with Ms. Jay's class. We had free time and played different games with the cones for our P.E. and we worked on how to play nicely with our friends. In the afternoon, we used different recycled materials such as water bottles, cardboard and plastics to make unique creations. We teamed up with Ms. Jay's friends to work in teams to build! I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will see you all on Monday! Enjoy the photos from the week!
In case you missed the sign up sheet (there are a couple of items still needing signed up for), together with Ms. Jay's class we will be celebrating Sweet Treat week from May 1st- 5th. We are going to be working together to make fun morning and afternoon treats. We will also be walking to Yoyums on Tuesday so please send in $5 at any point!
